Uncasville, CT - Alyssa Thomas made WNBA history on Monday night, becoming the first player in league history to record a triple-double in the playoffs.

Thomas led the Connecticut Sun to a 79-69 win over the Minnesota Lynx in Game 1 of their Eastern Conference semifinal series. She finished with 12 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists.

"It's an honor," Thomas said. "I'm just glad we got the win." The previous record for assists in a WNBA playoff game was 10, set by Cappie Pondexter in 2009.

Thomas' triple-double is the first in the WNBA playoffs since Sheryl Swoopes did it in 2005.

The Sun took a 1-0 lead in the best-of-three series. Game 2 is scheduled for Wednesday night in Minnesota.
